Employment Rights Assistance and Job Protection Benefits

AAE Job Protection Benefits, included in the liability insurance policy, can pay up to $1,000 to consult with an attorney if you are faced with a threatened job action, an additional $1,500 for attorney services if you request a hearing, and up to $8,000 if you file suit and judgment is in your favor.

That is more than $10,000 in available attorney’s fees for approved job action claims when you have been wronged—the equivalent of fifty years worth of membership dues!

AAE’s Legal Services Team, led by Sharon Nelson, a civil rights attorney with more than twenty years of experience, supports members in addition to the policy benefits.

Defense Against Lawsuits

The liability insurance policy includes additional protections:

• Up to $35,000 - to defend a lawsuit seeking non-monetary relief (e.g. if your teaching license is threatened).

• Up to $50,000 - to defend criminal charges of sexual misconduct, provided you are found not guilty or charges are dismissed.

• Up to $10,000 - to defend criminal charges arising out of corporal punishment, provided you are found not guilty or the charges are dismissed.

• Up to $5,000 - if you are sued by an employee you supervise regarding a covered personnel matter.

$60,000 No-Cost Life Insurance
